Watson’s Magazine Design


Watson’s is a South Sound destination for garden and home inspiration and goods.

After their repositioning to a lifestyle brand, I worked with Watson’s to reimagine their quarterly newsletter. Previously the piece had been designed to offer customers a listing of each season’s events, plants, and decor offerings, but this was a missed opportunity to show Watson’s real value: educating and inspiring people to make their homes, gardens, and lives more beautiful.

The Design

Instead of a quarterly newsletter, we opted for more content and filled the pages with photos of plants, landscapes and home goods that would spark their imagination. Watson’s has an amazing team of experts, and we wanted to make sure readers knew that, so we tapped them as a resource and had them write articles for the magazine.

The new magazine was chock-full of plant and gardening education, landscaping ideas, recipes, and seasonal product offerings that informed readers about the breadth of Watson’s product offerings while positioning them as a leader in their industry.
